- US passport holders do not require a visa to enter Cyprus for a stay of up to 90 days.
Third country nationals residing in the US that need a visa to enter Cyprus, MUST book an appointment (by email or telephone) to submit their application in person at the Embassy in Washington (or the General Consulate in New York if they reside in NY, NJ, PA, VT, NH, ME, MA, RI, CT), in order to submit biometric data. The in-person applications must take place at least 15 days before the day of travel to Cyprus. Applications take place from 09:30 to 16:00, Monday to Friday. Applicants will not be accepted without an appointment. Please have the application form filled prior to arriving.
When arriving for the appointment at the consulate, the applicant must hand over the passport. The passport will remain at the consulate until the application is examined and a decision is taken. After being informed on the decision the applicant can either receive the passport by mail (after sending prepaid label by email) or return to the consulate to pick up the passport.

Until the full integration of the Republic of Cyprus to the enhanced Schengen cooperation area, visa applicants are not required to fill in fields 25, 26, and 29. The visa is valid only for the territory of the Republic of Cyprus and does not grant the right to free movement within the rest of the Schengen area.
The possession of a valid visa does not grant the holder an unreserved right of entry to the Republic of Cyprus. The applicant may additionally be required to present certain evidence upon arrival.
Submitting the aforementioned documents does not guarantee the issuance of a visa. The Embassy (or Consulate) of Cyprus, where the visa application is lodged, reserves the right to request additional documents. These may include, among others, the following:
The fee for a single entry visa, as well as for a multiple entry visa, is the equivalent of €90 in US$ (based on the exchange rate at the time of application). For minors between the ages of 6 and 12 years old the fee is the equivalent of €45 in US$ (based on the exchange rate at the time of application) and for minors under the age of 6 there is no fee
Please contact the Consular Section of the Embassy at 202 462 0632 or the General Consulate in New York at +1 212 6866016, +1 212 6866017 for the correct amount. We currently only accept money orders. The payable line must remain blank. Do not specify to whom it will be paid.
Please note that a request for a multiple entry visa must be sufficiently justified and include supporting documentation in order for the Consulate to consider its issuance and validity.
Visas for immediate family members of Cypriot citizens are issued gratis (free of charge). Visa applicants should ensure that they submit their full contact details where the Embassy can reach out during the application process. Omitting this information may result in delays.
