Applications for the acquisition of the Cypriot citizenship must be made at the Embassy or an Honorary Consulate in person and will be processed by the Civil Registry and Migration Department in Cyprus.

It is possible to obtain the Cypriot citizenship:

• By descent i.e. if you are of Cypriot origin (either one or both parents are Cypriot citizens).
• As a spouse of a Cypriot citizen.
• By naturalization.

The application for citizenship must be signed in the presence of a Consular Officer or Honorary Consul and all accompanying documents submitted must be duly authenticated, i.e. bear the “APOSTILLE” stamp.
